Farewell BBQ at York Rowntree Park

We had a bbq farewell at Rowntree Park; organized for those who are going home this year. Yes, it's a bit early to have it now but no choice it seems as many are so busy with other matters if it's delayed. Furthermore, one of our friends is leaving soon. As usual, the weather is everyone's concerned....said to be some rain. Alhamdullilah, it turned out to be good with some sunshine but chilly  We had fun indeed esp the kids. Rizqin & Ilyas definitely wanna come back.

We planned to go to S-U-A on an early Sunday morning - 23/3/08...tetiba lak snowing heavily the night before...so did not wanna miss 'sledging' - ilyas just couldn't wait for it...we postponed to a bit later. Rezeki snow kali ni...  we cancelled our trip to Warwick; only exploring the Shakespeare's houses in S-U-A the next day 24/3/08.

Bila snow....sledging la...

When many saw our last snow photos where my kids were on sledge...they would like to do the same...Furthermore, the place was in the uni itself. They do not have to go far as many are staying nearby....  Just look at them....yeppie...bila lagi kannn...many in the pics are going back for good soon including us....this time, reckon to be our last snowy...the 'closure' of all these we've here... alahai...

Had a nice feeling when we woke up this morning....the snow had covered the ground...yeppie. We had to postpone our plan to Stratford-upon-avon....decided to go early this morning but...snow punye pasal...will go after the match instead - today's game is Liverpool vs M.U...hidup Liverpool !!!!

Warm weather is at the door...

Daffodils?? The yellow flowers bloom only in spring time...Dah keluar dah...(kalau tak dok sini, tak kenal pun species ni... )
A sign that warm weather is here and daytime is longer...But, it is still cold..Indeed, the temp. is in single digit still....adus... 
Look at my eldest...Adam Rizqin... Boring je kena posing...just came back from school...not in the uniform though as everyone at school was in sports gear to support sports relief. The brother, Ilyas Rifqi was not as always...at this very moment, refused to pose...demam  :

High Force Waterfall, Northumberland
|

High Force, the highest waterfall in England; is situated in Middleston-in-Teesdale area. It is also said to be one of the 'Seven Wonders' of the North. The view here is absolutely stunning...esp at this time of the year...where trees are without leaves...(only my opinion). I guess another nice time to go is during autumn whilst autumn foliage is around...Along the footpath, there's also rocky cliff alike named Whin Sill...another amazing view. Recommended to go..

It has been a while since our last visit to Durham...The last time we went was after raya 2007. So my kids dah tak sabar2 nak jumpe their second cousins...esp Ilyas...kept on asking when could we meet the girls....

Spring Countdown...

Spring is here soon.... BST will be on the last Sunday of this month (kalau x silap la....legaa...longer daytime...) Daffodils, bluebells etc have started to bloom...Birds chirp even louder now.... ducks and geese make a lot of noises too....Giving us signs that nice warm weather is at the door...tak le panas mana pun...tapi tak le kena nak pakai tebal2... Sedih gak... as it is maybe our last winter here... try to take as many pics as possible...esp gambar pokok2 'togel' tak berdaun tu...

FIESTA - Food Fair by OSA

Fiesta; another event by OSA, is a food fair where students from other countries set up their own food stations and people are invited to taste the food and vote for their fav. ones. We have been participating for three consecutive years now. Two years ago, we were the champion - fav dish, chicken curry by Rayner. Last year, we got 3rd place...chicken curry Rayner mesti ade as requested by many; while I cooked Lontong and pulut serunding. Another good achievement this year...2nd place...Rayner's chicken curry was there still and i cooked dendeng and seri muka...For the first time, i came and joined the rest to promote our food. actually, hubby punye tiket, but he gave it to me sbb sayang bini kann... (sian kat kite le tu..dah tentu la..kita yg masak... Macam i plak yg student...perasan kejap...

The coldest day ever....
|

Like yesterday, the lake is still frozen. But today is even worse....foggy!!!  I managed to snap some pictures and at that very moment it was only -3.5 degrees (according to York Uni website). Even my hubby agreed with me that this was indeed the worst day after 3 1/2 years here. Never before it went down to -3 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Kalau malam, pagi or maghrib tu time winter ni memang biase la....For three consecutive days now that the tree branches, grass, leaves etc are covered with ice....
